Oh my, how I pride myself in having become an expert backlink builder after literally years of struggle. As in all things great,they, the numerous backlinks your site will need, don’t come easy. My PhD took me eight years to complete. And still then I had to show 3000 hours of experience in order to get my license. Herein lies an example of things of value taking time. Hence building back links is not something that just money can buy. Anyone that is telling you that there are automated ways to build “1000’s of backlinks” right now, is just taking your money. The only true backlink builder is a human that does it by hand.

Building backlinks takes more than just time, it takes thought and perseverance. A true backlink builder puts forth a great number of varied efforts to create different kinds of back links in order to arrange your website that you worked on so hard to ultimately rank not just on page 1 but in the first three listings of a google search result that favors the keyword phrase that you are marketing to.
If you are anything like most of us, I put myself and my business on a budget. Even if I have the money I’m careful with how I spend it. When you have a business you can’t just frivolously spend your money all over the place. You need to spend your money wisely.
In the beginning of my back link builder journey I tried to do it all myself. I would set goals for myself to every day of the week, at least, post 10 comments to 10 other website blogs. Seriously, this would mean that in 10 days I would have 100 back links to my website which would mean that in a month I would have 300 back links. But at that time I didn’t realize the relevance of accumulating a variety of different kinds of back links. Being a “backlink builder” could be likened to the builder of any house. You wouldn’t build a house with only one size of room or a single length of wood. I did not know that one back link is not equal to another back link. Imagine you were trying to hire for a position in your company and you are looking at the resumes of 10 different people. Every person has a resume that comes with references. Let’s say that one person has a reference from the White House and another person has a reference from the local mom and pop business. Naturally you would not evaluate these two references as having the same or equal value. This could be likened to the value placed on different kinds of back links. There are back links that are simply just that; a simple link placed in the location of the comment box on another website or in perhaps a profile set up of a forum. But then there are links that are part of a complete written contextual response in another location.Or, links can be weaved into the body of an entire article that you have written that is posted on someone elses website. Naturally the one that is written as part of the body of text somewhere has a lot more meaning or significance than just a simple line of a URL without any content or words connected with it. This difference Between simple basic profile backlinks versus contextual backlinks is the first biggest notion to be aware of. Then you can also compare the value between different contextual back links that are placed on a website that has a page rank of one versus a website that has a page rank of four or five or six. It’s again like evaluating the comment that comes from the White House’s website that is more meaningful than the comment that comes from the local liquor store’s blog.
Probably some of the best locations to make comments are on educational or government websites, but the question is where are those locations. I have spent days and even a week trying to figure this out. The results I found were that the answer is not a simple one. It takes enormous amount of time and research to even figure out where you are allowed to place your links. Then once that is done there is still a greater question about how do you get Google to see your link or to value your link so that you get credit for the link in the way you hoped it would. The hope is to have that link influence your ranking, eventually. But, if google doesn’t value it or even realize it is there, then how will that help you?
The points that I have herein indicated are just the beginning of what you need to know to have a successful back linking campaign. If every other facet of your business has been attended to and you have loads of free time and nothing else that needs your attention then by all means go and do this all by yourself. Start writing articles every day and submitting them to the high-ranking places that they need to go. Start commenting every day on other peoples blogs at a minimum of 10 per day. Add to the mix social bookmarking etc. and you can make a full-time job of it or more. After about six months of attempting to do this myself and making actually very little headway I decided to enlist help.
